Alison is a queer, neurodivergent licensed associated counselor who prioritizes using a multicultural strengths-based, person-centered approach to therapy, emphasizing genuineness, compassion, & unconditional positive regard within all of her therapeutic relationships. She seeks to create a safe & warm welcoming environment in her office, as she recognizes therapy is a vulnerable experience no matter if it is your first- or tenth-time coming in. Alison is passionate about working with folks identifying with the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent adults, as well as people interested in addressing the impact of generational trauma on their sense of self. She also loves helping her clients navigate new life changes & discovering their true authentic selves. Alison believes that all of her clients are the experts of themselves & their lived experiences, therefore she strives to collaboratively work with you to tailor your treatment goals to best suit your needs. To do so she frequently pulls from a wide variety of therapy modalities, including acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, & motivational interviewing to foster a greater sense of self-growth & acceptance. Outside of the therapy office, Alison loves spending quality time with her partner & her beloved pets. She also enjoys tending to her garden & traveling back home to the east coast to visit her family.
