Riley (Therapy Dog)

About the Therapist

Riley is officially credentialed by the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. This is an agency that provides therapy dogs who offer support to people in a variety of settings. Riley offers support when he feels it is needed and gives space when he feels that might be best. He does not do tricks and is not allowed to accept treats while he is working. He has a passive role in sessions. He is very empathic and often can feel that a person would benefit from some attention from him; a paw on the leg or a nose under someone’s hands might be his way to try to connect. He enjoys his role of getting to say hello to many people and seems to know when he has brightened someone’s day.
