As an inclusive Black therapist, Zuryah (she/her) provides services to diverse populations who deal with varying stressors and challenges in life. Zuryah also wants to give acknowledgment to the oppressive and discriminatory systems that work to marginalize individuals and groups in our society. These systems can have a negative effect on our mental health, as well as how we view ourselves and the world. By empowering yourself through therapy, you are making time to put your needs first and discuss issues that are important to your well-being. Zuryah’s main focus and experience has been working with individuals with depression, low self-esteem, anger issues, and anxiety, building on coping/mindfulness strategies, individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community, and addressing racial/cultural trauma. As your therapist, she will utilize trauma-informed and strength-based therapeutic techniques and tools to tailor a treatment plan to fit your unique needs. Zuryah wants you to feel comfortable in your session, so if you need to use a fidget toy, draw on a whiteboard or choose to sit on a floor cushion instead of a chair, she can happily accommodate you.
